Brooklyn Site

site analysis link ----> the link of the site I'm working on.

The reason I chose the Brooklyn Site because the site is near the waterfront and my Building will be Water theme Hotel with Aquarium So, it make sense to pick a site near the water and Enjoy the Manhattan Views from Brookyln.

Before going into Abstract design and Program development. I need to answer following questions to better identify what kind of building I'm going to develop.

1.Which building typology you are researching?

 The building typology I'm researching will be Hotel/Recreation Center.

2.Why are you researching this building typology?

  I'm researching hotel because I have never done hotel design throughout my semesters, and I'm interested to design a hotel that interact with the customers. Also having unique experiences while staying in the hotel.

3.What is the specialty of this building type you would like to research i.e.   museum for dance, school for digital media…

  The building I would like to research will be Aquarium hotel due to the fact that the site is near waterfront and it will interesting for New Yorkers or tourist around the world to stay in the hotel enjoy the Manhattan views and can also look at creatures of the deep ocean while enjoying activities such as swimming, dinning, scuba diving and etc.

 Name: Radisson SAS Hotel Berlin
 Location/Architect:Berlin, Germany by BHPS-Architekten 

 The new Radisson SAS Hotel is located on the banks of the River Spree, across from Museum Island and the Berliner Dom.The 25 meters high AquaDom Lobby aquarium, the worlds largest, holds 2,500 tropical fish and 1 million liters of water.

Name:Atlantis,The Palm 
Location/Architect:
The Palm,Dubai byWimberly, Allison Tong and Goo(WATG)

 Atlantis, The Palm is a Dubai Hotel resort located at the apex of the Palm Jumeirah. It was the first resort to be built on the island and is themed on the myth of Atlantis but includes distinct Arabian elements.

Name:The Perry South Beach
Location/Architect: 2377 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida, US by Stephen B.Jacobs and interior Designer Andi Pepper.

 One of Miami's hottest hotels, The Perry South Beach's Aquarium Weighs at 40,000 gallons and measures 50 feet long. Inside, guests will find a mix of exotic sharks, stingrays and other fish.

Name: Pacific Beach Hotel
Location/Owner: Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii owned by HTH Corporation

The Pacific Beach Hotel is located across the street from Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. It has more than 800 rooms, making it on of the 10 largest hotels in Hawaii. The Hotel's signature attraction is its three-story 280,000 gallon salt water aquarium that is visible from three of the hotel's restaurants.

Location/Owner: 3950 Las Vegas Boulevard S, Last Vegas, Nevada, owned by MGM Resorts International.

 43-story luxury hotel and casino,One of the property's towers operates as theDelano, also the Four Seasons Hotel is independently operated within the Mandalay Bay tower, occupying 5 floors.Mandalay Bay has 3,309 hotel rooms, 24 elevators and a casino of 135,000 square feet

The Shark Reef Aquarium

It is a saltwater Aquarium that full of ocean creatures that you can see such as shark, turtle and exotic fishes.























this is the house of the blues where they have live band performing on stages while you enjoying your meals.

Name: Hotel H2o
Location/Architect: Luneta, Manila 1000 Philippines by GSN + P Architecture Studio.

 comprises two floors connected by a long aquarium wall, housing the Aqua Club Lounge, Fitness Centre and Spa. The 114 rooms and 33 suites, pleasantly furnished with wood, natural fabrics and artworks.

 I love this idea of waking up can see beautiful aquarium right in front of you.

Name: The Seagate Hotel and Spa
Location: 1000 East Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida 33483

A chic restaurant, featuring an aquarium of jelly fish and a shark tank, serves contemporary cuisine. Others include conference and banquet facilities, 2 outdoor pools, a hot tub, a spa and fitness center, and complimentary local shuttles.

Name: the Mirage 
Location/Architect: Las Vegas Strip, Paradise,Nevada by Joel Bergman

A 3,044 room Polynesian-themed hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States. The resort was built by developer Steve Wynn and is currently owned and operated by MGM Resorts International.

Attractions:

 LOVE entrance at the Mirage

An artificial volcano along the Strip that "erupts" nightly from 8 pm–midnight on the hour. After sister property Bellagio opened, the design firm WET Enterprises improved the technology behind the volcano effect to make it more spectacular in 1996. 





LOVE, a Cirque du Soleil theatrical production involving remixes of The Beatles.

Name: Flatiron Hotel, NYC
Location/Architect: 9 West 26th street, NY 10010 by Daniel Burnham

Beautiful Madison Square Park in the hip and Flatiron District of Manhattan surrounded by the most interesting and active neighborhoods in the city.



Attractions:

Two story Tall Aquarium through the floors.

 Dinning area as you can see the Aquarium. This is the only Aquarium hotel in NYC.

Roof top sitting area that you can see the Manhattan skyline.

5.  What are you goals for working with this building type?

 The Goal Working with this building type are to create this interaction with the Customers and marine life of the Earth by experience the beauty of the Deep ocean.And There aren't many Aquarium Hotel in New York City.
